UK auction of vintage Pokémon card collection realises about $2.1 million at Ewbank's

A collection of 42 complete Pokémon card sets, bought in the late 1990s by a man in Woking, Surrey and stored in his attic for 15 years, sold at Ewbank's auction house on October 21 for a combined total of roughly $2.1 million. The top lot, a Legendary Collection Complete Master Set including a near-mint Charizard, fetched about $134,000 against an estimate of $20,000–$27,000. Ewbank's said the sale was the most valuable trading card auction held in the UK.
